That would be really strange if it was tied to Internet speed. I have a unifi setup and we have synchronous gigabit internet. Also both our gaming computers are wired so they normally get 800-1000mbps.

If you use CloudFlare as your proxy then all your instances traffic gets routed through CF before ever making it to your server. If someone tries to upload CSAM it will immediately be flagged (before ever making it to your server). CloudFlare then quarantines it and automatically files a report with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. There’s more to the prices, but the point is that putting it in the lemmy software is not a good solution, especially when industry standard proven solutions already exist. You don’t have to use CF. You can also use solutions from Google, FB, Microsoft, Thorn, etc.

I too can afford anything I want and I still pirate. A lot of the time it’s just not even possible to find something on a streaming service I actually pay for and I’m honestly sick of giving corporations my information when I want to buy something and then they turn around and sell it immediately so I get so much spam. At that point it’s not about not being able to afford it. It’s that the media companies are so greedy they can’t just take a simple payment without trying to turn it into something more. Definitely. I’m pretty sure they modified the code to look as bad as possible just to take the photo though. You can clearly see all the lines are marked as modified in the gutter.
