Fantastic. I left some other comments on here but I switched within days of doing the trial and I haven’t gone back at all. I think the total number of times I’ve used Google search since then is 3. Yes 3 total searches on Google in the past six months. None of those searches gave me what I wanted, but those were the times i couldn’t find what I needed with kagi. So 3 kagi failures in 6 months and Google wasn’t helpful either.

that's awesome. Is the quality good? I'm really loving Kagi, but I love OSS stuff so might consider this. Maintenance is also an issue. I'm tired of maintaining things. I've got my own unraid server, pihole, etc and I'm not in the mood for adding more stuff.
you should try using it. Seriously. I thought the same as you, "why are all these people plugging kagi so hard". Well, I literally started using it 3 months ago and I've only used Google search 3 times since then and not a single one of those times did Google succeed at the search I needed either. Google was so fucking bad that I essentially was forced to make a change, and I'd tried DDG like 2 years ago and hated it, I tried Bing and hated it.
I fucking love not being tracked, not worrying about being the product. I can search what I want without fear of being watched. It's fantastic. And it's fucking better than Google. God, google has gotten so bad I literally had trouble doing my job some days. No more of that bullshit.
I have. It’s pretty good. I still use Firefox for most stuff, and like 5% of sites that I visit break in Orion, but other than that it’s very clean and easy. I like the side tabs, but it doesn’t completely replace Firefox for me yet. Seems close though!!!
Can you message me in a few days about this? I’m out of town and won’t have time to look into it for a least a few days but I really don’t like trackers and I’m not sure why programming.dev would have any trackers cuz I most definitely didn’t add them. (I run Firefox with ublock matrix, several other tracker prevention mechanisms including Firefox’s built in fingerprinting blocking, sometimes I switch to Orion which also has good tracking blocking).

You don’t have to give a bottle of bleach. The point is that most household chemicals have hardly any warnings on them at all and the ones they do have are written in tiny text on the back. And no, most household chemicals do not have locking bottles. Sure things like bleach do, but you purposefully chose one to try and fit your narrative. Note that bleach is number five now, rather than number one, behind:
- Blood pressure medications
- Acetaminophen
- Antidepressants

It’s incredibly clear that the CPSC doesn’t actually care about the facts and someone in the magnet industry pissed them of else they’d be spending their time trying to fix the actual things that are killing children, like firearms.

Just to end this post; the zen magnet warnings covered every inch of the packaging, you opened the box and there were more warning, you opened the bag in the box and there were even more warnings. There were permanent warnings in bright red text that couldn’t be removed from the box. This was more warning than any other product on the market and yet zen magnets have been completely banned, while bleach is still sold at your local grocery store with no ID necessary. Here’s a picture of one of the warnings, sorry I couldn’t find a video showing all the warnings, it’s been lost to time.
Anyway, the CPSC clearly doesn’t care about actual child deaths and injuries, as it didn’t do anything to even slow the rate of injuries or deaths and yet completely banned an entire industry just for pissing them off. I’ve posted all the proof straight from the CPSC above if you don’t believe that statement.
That’s not true at all. It was one of the first things we tested out when we got ours in January. You have to let off at a specific rate, essentially it was trying to replicate engine braking since that also does not result in your brake lights come on. A later software update has also made it come on earlier if you’re braking lighter.
I think that check must be bypassed for admin passwords, or it was instituted after I created programming.dev, because my password is 100 characters and I can log in on every other app perfectly fine. Even if that was the limit, it still should be enforced by the backend on login, not on the frontend, except for maybe initial account creation.
It’s much better than novelty if you learn how to use it. I routinely use it to write scripts for Google apps scripts, bash, etc. I’m using it to help with rust libraries that don’t have much documentation. I’ve used it to research camera gear that I don’t know much about. And once you get some information from it you can then go Google. Google has gotten so bad lately that it’s not hard for ChatGPT to beat it though. If you’re using 3.5 I highly recommend stopping that nonsense though. There’s zero reason to use 3.5 and every reason to use 4.
