I did not mean proper balkanization with interstate wars. Just breaking up the US as OP suggested.

Regardless, the idea that the US's imperialism has brought peace to the world is deeply unserious. As well is your notion that China would be the new global aggressor. At worst it would be the regional hegemon that it has historically been. Israel and the UAE have been far more aggressive than that and with the US's backing.

All of the AI uses I've listed have been around for almost a decade or more and are the only computational solutions to those problems. If you've ever used speech to text that wasn't a speak-n-spell you were using a very basic AI model. If you ever scanned a document and had the text be recognized, that's an AI model.

The catch here is I'm not talking about chatgpt or anything trying be very "general". These are all highly specialized ai models that serve a very specific function.

Basically everything its used for that isn't being shoved in your face 24/7.

  • speech to text
  • image recognition
  • image to text (includes OCR)
  • language translation
  • text to speech
  • protein folding
    • lots of other bio/chem problems

Lots of these existed before the AI hype to the point they're taken for granted, but they are as much AI an LLM or image generator. All the consumer level AI services range from annoying to dangerous.

She also met privately with Netanyahu after his speech. She's definitely more aware of the electoral consequences of supporting genocide than Biden. That's an improvement. But to me its all hollow gestures for now. Candy coating for the election that will get dissolve once in office.

None of the actions at the protest went too far. All this is just asking for "less genocide" instead of "no genocide" which I view as genocide apologia.

This is a very BJP / Mohdi / Hindutva thing. Not India as a whole but it is popular enough. These Hindutva people also unironically praise Israel and Zionism. They see Israel as they ethno-state model they want to be, plus they both hate Muslims. (The Israeli response to this "fuck off, you're more brown than arabs")

MPD + some GUI client. Plattenalbum is one such client but it's an outlier because its album based when MPD is playlist based.

  • directories for music or playlists are configurable
  • supports alsa, jack, pulseaudio, and pipewire
  • album art is up to the client
  • deleting music is up to the client.

Cantata is another GUI mpd client that I've used and enjoyed. It's unmaintained but would other fit your needs. I also recommend installing mpDris for mpris support.

In Geneva arguing with the league of nations against the fascist invasion of his kingdom. What point are you trying to make?

It legitimately should be Kamala's turn but "It's Her Turn" was a 2016 slogan of Hillary.

[-] sudo@programming.dev 1 points 2 years ago

He joking that they'll run Hillary again.

[-] sudo@programming.dev 1 points 2 years ago

They tried that back in 2016 and it just made him stronger.

Yeah I have no idea where that article is or even the title. "LogLog Rust" isn't a good enough search term.
