I did OSMand and CoMaps for about a year. Got so sick or having to look up addresses on search, use an online tool to convert addresses to coordinates, and then having no traffic information in the app.

Both app systems are almost there but it was too much friction even for me.

Solution? CoMaps for everyday, gmaps in private space on Grapheme for when I need to not be hassled with the above annoyances

Honestly, Kagi is crushing it. Their search results are so quality that family members of mine have agreed it is better than google. I never thought I'd pay for search but now am honestly glad I do.

It does work! If you are not using sandboxed google play services, you will not get them toast notification - but the workaround is just to open the app, and if necessary drag down to refresh to receive your Duo Push.

If you have SGPS running presumably you would receive the actual notification.

Kinoite user here - no urge to hop. Distrobox if I need something else

I find that it is only accurate (same as OSMand) if I get the exact lat long coordinates - I use online tools that convert addresses to lat long.

I'm in the US and Open Street Maps address and even place name searches are highly inaccurate

Yes, I contribute to StreetComplete and other similar projects so this isn't just whining - its just the annoying state of things

Obsidian Sync is working well for me personally, and for me and my wife.

Now if I could just get work to adopt it!

My wife and I are smooth sailing on Graphene for almost 6 months now and she's not as techy

Can confirm that this happens on mobile (installed via F-Droid on GrapheneOS). It will seemingly change countries or profiles mid day or overnight without a restart.

It is super annoying and causes sites I use to send me through all the verifications again / generate new tokens..

I have not witnessed this on Linux via flatpak but will keep an eye out..

Can confirm that this works - even better if they said no and then later ask you to send something "hey can you send so and so's contact card" or. "Photos form the event"

And then you say "Yes, on Signal"

They will download right there

Fedora Atomic! Kinoite rocks

Check out the Fedora Atomic distros Silverblue, Kinoite, etc. You can just run arch in a distrobox for your arch needs while keeping a clean and stable core.

In my distrobox bitwig set up with Wine 9.21 I am using the following with no issues

  • Melda (various including MSoundFactory)
  • Native instruments (including Reaktor and Massive X)
  • unfiltered audio / plugin alliance including battalion
  • psychic Modulation
  • all arturia
  • all Valhalla dsp
  • Adam Szabo viper and jp6k
  • lese smear And a bunch of others with no problems.

Usable with some issues

  • Newfangled audio - plugins work and sound great but GUI hangs or is extremely laggy

Not working at all

  • some eventide plugins
  • all aberrant DSP
  • all UVI

This is all under a unified wine prefix - o might try playing with different prefixes for different plugins and see if I can't fix some of the above or some of the QoL issues

Y'all hip to Blush Response? His work has been really inspiring me the past few years.

If not, SPRAWL is a good place to start

Or for a more industrial techno approach, IN EXILE:
