They didn't demolish a limestone pyramid and replace it with what you see now... What you're seeing now is what was underneath a layer of limestone. They dismantled the limestone slowly to use it for building materials.
So one thing that happens in history is, people stop paying to maintain things or governments don't care anymore, so people start taking them apart and using it for building materials.
Let's say you're a modern day contractor, and need $10,000 worth of brick... or you could go and uh just take some from that old library that no one uses anymore, except some homeless dudes camp in it. You could take down maybe just like one small part of it and not spend ANYTHING on brick. Other contractors are already doing this... No one will care.
Basically what happened to the library of alexandria if I remember correctly. It was less fire and more just hundreds of years of people stopping caring.

Humans are just animals at the end of the day. This is all a sexual display of fitness. Hiking and traveling tell people you're physically and financially fit. You can move around no issue. You are social. You are socially and physically healthy.
They lie a ton and show pics of hiking from 5 years ago and act like they can still do all that. Or they never could and the pics are deceiving... Regardless, it's just a game all genders are playing to show sexual fitness. It looks like carbon copies because it's the best way to communicate "my body moves well and I can afford luxury".

So part of the reason to believe he was a real figure was that, crucifixion was a humiliating punishment at the time. The fact that people were worshipping a guy who was crucified was ridiculous at the time. Lots of people were talking about a guy Jesus who got crucified, and they weren't friends of Christians.
You had early Christians talking about Jesus, and early enemies of Christianity talking about some charlatan who got humiliated by being crucified and then for some reason people still worshipped him, which would have been ridiculous.
The guy probably existed as a historical figure.
