Yeah, the guy in my story was to be a developer as well. Clearly it's way more confortable to work on Linux. The justification in my company is that the security protocols are already built for Windows so they don't want to redo the job on Linux. Handling to OS' would increase their work load.
Absolutely. If you're so strict about this, you should definitely ask.
In my story, he was not really fired. But a new hire in my company was handed his computer. Seeing it was on Windows, he asked to work on Linux instead. IT told him that Windows was mandatory so he resigned on the spot.

It's great! You really should sign them, though. Besides self promotion, attribution is important to find the sources, credit the materiel and find more of your stufd!
