This is the classic "Boblin the Goblin" DND meme

Well, no. But then it gets rejected, and further PRs that also fail the check will likely get you banned from contributing.

The human is responsible.
If the code or PR fails, the human has to own that.
If the human fails to own that, the human gets banned

Having been through university, I have no idea how I could "level up faster" without more years.
And I say that as someone that has carved out a career doing something as the (AFAIK) only person (well, freelancer at least) doing what I do in my country.

Maybe AI disrupts universities? Or AI disrupts skills?
Like AirBnB disrupted hotels, then enshitified to make airbnbs require more manual labour to stay at and cost more than a fucking standard hotel room.

Killing Donny wouldn't change much, tho.
America has shown it wants Donald or a Donald substitute.

Project 2025 is now Americas playbook.

Other countries changing military suppliers isn't going to change back to america for 10-15 years (hell, maybe even longer, I dunno what the service life of a jet platform is).
The risk that has surfaced of "America has an off switch" - even just the potential risk of rumors of an off switch - means all those military assets are useless when America elects unhinged leaders that are willing to subvert democratic process in order to run their playbook.
And America has shown it is willing to do that. Even prefers to do that

Reminds me of the story of the old engineer asked to come in and fix some machine in a factory.

The engineer inspects the machine, marks it with some chalk, then strikes the chalk mark with a hammer.
The machine works again.
The company asks for an itemised invoice after seeing the initial invoice for $10k.
To which they received:

  • hitting chalk mark with hammer: $1.
  • knowing where to place the chalk mark: $9,999

GPT suffers from garbage-in garbage-out just as much as a search engine does.
Knowing how to find search results to fix your specific situation is a skill.
Utilising GPT for such a task is equally a skill. With the added bonus of GPT randomly pulling the perfect API/Library out of its ass

I get what you are saying, but the balance is off.
YT premium costs (edit) more than a streaming service per month.
There are no industry leading movies or series released exclusively on YouTube.
YouTubes benefits of premium is "not being delivered 'skip after 5 seconds' live streams" as an ad that will play indefinitely (or at least for hours).
Also, streaming services provide much better series discovery. Ie, find a show you like and easily discover the start of that series, then binge watch the entire series in order.
YT premium is basically a "play next" queue, 1080p, and no ads.
It doesn't (AFAIK) support creators any more. It's literally just a fee to not-be-inconvenienced, and it's not great at that

How many people are running public facing windows servers in their homelab/self-hosted environment?

And just because "it's worked so far" isn't a great reason to ignore new technology.
IPv6 is useful for public facing services. You don't need a single proxy that covers all your http/s services.
It's also significantly better for P2P applications, as you no longer need to rely on NAT traversal bodges or insecure uPTP type protocols.

If you are unlucky enough to be on IPv4 CGNAT but have IPv6 available, then you are no longer sharing reputation with everyone else on the same public IPv4 address. Also, IPv6 means you can get public access instead of having to rely on some RPoVPN solution.

For me, after looking over the docs, it's close enough to JavaScript that it might as well adopt more of the syntax (for example, conditionals and loops don't use parenthesis). It also has some similarities to python, but again not enough to be python.

Feels like an in-between language that has enough similarities to seem easy, but some gotchas that will regularly catch you out.
And then some extra features like the if chaining, which doesn't have the keyword if or switch in it. So you have to know that that structure implies an if or switch conditional.

Especially for something like bash scripting, which devs probably don't spend as much time doing compared to python or js. So, it would probably take them longer (and break their brain more) than just scripting it in python/js directly or dealing with bash directly.

It's an improvement over bash, and it's nice that it transpiles to bash.
I might have to play around with it and see how it actually feels to use

I mean, you made a lot of aggressive comments and exploded back at commenters before you actually explained your stance/position.
And it all read like "have pity on those beach front home owners when the tides come", as opposed to "yeh, beach front home owners are assholes, I wish they would do something to actually help. Unfortunately the regular population are essentially hostage to ever increasing rent, insurance and food prices making moving anywhere safer more and more difficult each season"

Maybe it's cause it's text.

And by the time your turn comes around again, the enemy will have had their turn and got their reactions back.
So they could just counterspell it again

The first time you make the Cyclops and go "woah, that's big". When you are welcomed on board. When you walk about and go "oh, engine room. And 6 power cells", when you flick all the lights on and off, when you have to start the engine, when it steers like a bus and you bonk everything I'm sight. When you first honk the horn. When you learn to drive using the cameras. When you learn you can build in it. When a creature attacks and you drop a bouy.
So many great firsts with the Cyclops.

The seatruck was fine. But it didn't seem to have the personality of the cyclops

Pretty sure it talks about misinformation, which is not factually accurate information.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misinformation

So, nobody decides.
It's not factually accurate, so it's misinformation.
It's like asking "when something is covered in water, who decides that it is wet?". The majority of the time, the item is going to be wet.

Disinformation is deliberate misinformation.
Proving something is misinformation is likely trivial compared to proving a malicious or deliberate intent behind presenting the misinformation (thus making it disinformation).
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disinformation
But disinformation is just pointing the finger at someone over misinformation.
Clearing up misinformation will hamper any disinformation campaign.
