Hi! One of the mods suggested I post this here, so here we are.

!webtoons@ani.social is a community for discussion relating to webcomics in the vertical scroll format originally popularized by Korean manhwa artists.

Feel free to join if you'd like to see or post content relating to webtoons, I'd love to have you there!

Currently there is only one moderator, but if there becomes a need for more, you can look out for moderator applications to be opened in the future.

I’ve decided to host this community through ani.social as opposed to a different server because I felt it would fit best here. Due to anisocial hosting anime/manga/visualnovels/virtualyoutubers/character ai and other related communities, and the large cross-section of these communities with people who read vertical scroll webcomics. As well as the recent trend of adapting korean webcomics into anime.

There is another webtoons community on lemmy, but it only has a single inactive moderator and has not been touched at all for over a year.

Please let me know if this is not the appropriate server to host this community.
