The car is bad because of it's inherent design flaws and bad UX.

Robo Taxi, "not so full self driving" and similar things don't make the car bad but show the practices Tesla uses to lure people into buying a car. By promising features they can't deliver. Same with Tesla Semi, new Roadster, etc.

About hating Elon. Hate is a strong word but he is clearly a faschist moron. That doesn't make cars technically bad but I'd like to hear some arguments how a moron being in charge helps the company make better cars.

And regarding science, there are some papers that show that cars with screens are way less safe because you have to look away to interact with it and that "glorified cruise control" too because you should pay attention because the car has too many flaws but in practice people stop paying attention.

LLMs are extremely knowledgeable (as in they "know" a lot) but are completely dumb.

If you want to anthropomorphise it, current LLMs are like a person that read the entire internet, remembered a lot of it, but still is too stupid to win/draw tic tac toe.

So there is value in LLMs, if you use them for their knowledge.

There actually isn't really any doubt that AI (especially AGI) will surpass humans on all thinking tasks unless we have a mass extinction event first. But current LLMs are nowhere close to actual human intelligence.

I think I know what you mean and it's true if you look at world class. But that's the reason why sometimes we use those properties to cluster people into groups to make it more fair. A lot of fighting sports are split into weight classes. We have paralympics, and we split many sports into male and female. Even in chess where almost everybody agrees that there is very likely no performance difference between man and women, but there are so many man playing chess that statistics alone tells you that most outliers (best and worst players) are also men.

But with "fairness" you have to draw the line somewhere or the groups that are able to play against each other would be too small. In the extreme it would mean that it's only fair if you compete against yourself, like in trying to break you own personal records.

Even paralympics aren't fair. It makes a difference to shoot with a bow if you are missing a leg, or an eye or an arm. Getting too specific will certainly make it fairer but would result in more groups and less people that would be allowed to compete against each other.

I'm personally not interested in watching any form of spots, so I couldn't care less about who's allowed to compete against whom, but I think it's only understandable if people that went through puperty without testosterone would complain if they would have to compete against more and more people who went through testosterone puperty.

Linux is way to fragmented and without a great dominating distro it will never. Waymand, Ubuntu, Mint, Gnome, KDE, WTF, Users don't fucking care about that jargon. Most Window users don't even know the name of the browser they are using or that "the internet app" is even called "browser".

A few weeks ago I updated Ubuntu from 22 to 23 on my home media center. First tried the Updates App because why not just press a single fucking button like on windows or mac. No - no major updates there. Open a console, apt update and upgrade the hell out of everything, update the package sources with some shady regex command I copy pasted from some random forum, update upgrade again dist-upgrade WTF. After everything was done the layout of the info area (network, wifi, etc) was fucked up. Read some only shit about gnome shell extensions, themens, nothing made sense, force reinstalled the gome shell - worked again.

And somebody expects that "typical" users to do that don't even know what Windows Version they are running - sure.

Sadly not really. It's basically impossible to offset our CO2 emissions with trees unless we cut those trees down, store them underground like nuclear waste, plant new trees and repeat that a few times.
