It wouldn't. Why the hell can't I (or someone) randomly stumble on some post by choosing show me local (server) content feed or by choosing show me all, or simply by search and then vote up/down the post or comment even if I'm not right now in that particular comunity. E.g. if someone posts perfect or simply wrong misguiding bulshit reply, or then I find the post very usefull, or then comment is funny or on a contrary it's not. People are not living in a boxes of closely guarded comunities without exploring whats outside or new, without migrating, joining, leaving, fighting, agreeing, cheering, checking what ather users are into, etc..

And to add the second counter(s), technicaly is just as a simple as adding one aditional db field on posts table (or two if we keep ups and downs totals as separate fields now). And after, adding a simple if clause near the existing ones caunting global likes/dislikes, to increase a comunity counter too if this particular vote request comes from comunity member. Thats it. Then you can start expanding sorting options to enable more sorting options, but thats even not nesesary at first. Quite enough it would be simply to output vote count as a text at the top of post, near the global total - to be able to see what comunity members think and to be able to compare to what outsiders think.

A very good option here it would be a functionality to show two stats – a comunity members up/down votes and everybody's up/down counters. And add an aditional sort options, e.g. hot in community. This way votes could be localized usefully and used as a tool to rise best content in comunity without manual moderation, and a global functionality also wouldn't be lost.

P.S. Someone add a ticket for lemmy developers to work on it. I'm not on their repo.

And I support your ability to post here or anywhere, I encourage you to create the content no matter the opinions. If you see it to your liking or have a need (like in doing media compains) go for it. I just don't like crippling of vote system.

P.S. and how the hell are you taking out of your ass the idea that I spent my time downvoting anything here. Lol :) Hey someone with a serveradmin power here, show him my votes stats – I don't believe any if several downvotes where ever casted here (on nsfw server) by me, mostly only upvotes. Calm him down, I've mentioned his content only because he started to try atack personaly (blagh blagh you are downvoter, blagh blagh what ever have you given, etc..). I don't realy care what he posts even if it's not nsfw. :)

Oh, but I don't downvote that I don't like. I usualy down vote only the misinformation and propaganda. And we don't have such content on nsfw by definition. I just don't like someone bossing around with taking out functionality and an option of freely expressing your opinion and taking away concurency of opinions in a vote system.

I've expressed my opinion about that his content is not enought nsfw to be be here (on lemmynsfw), but I don't see a problem in him or his content beeing here. And I don't see a point in blocking him or even voting his content down. I just want my tool to be able to express my opinion more silently if his content will begin to get in a way too much, e.g. downvoting some repeating post if becoming too spammy on a main flow of local posts. Sometimes down voting someone on particular anoying post silently is much much better then telling what you think laudly and in details or blocking poster, community or yourself out. I vote for self regulation in comunities.

I agree with you. Ignoring or silently downvoting would be much better than commenting, when you have nothing encouraging or constructive to add. ;)

Yes 😂 you can't any more. From now on everybody will have to play a stupid game of adding aditional comments with "I don't like it", "I like it" and then upvoting one of them. That's just silly. I see your good intentions, but don't agree with the means. The only efect it will have on sorting is that the post will be counted as equaly active in both cases. Comunity will not be able to rise and drown posts to their liking.

I don't like your content. It is useles as nsfw on a nsfw server, cause it's is not a nsfw, just some boring celebrities default photos promoting for them not to become forgoten. Do you think I'll begin to think that your content is in the right place (server) just because you take voting down off? Shit in a wrong place is shit in a wrong place. Concurency of ideas, opinions, random content has to be free and it has to have all means of expressing those opinions and having a way to know opinions of others is esential tool.

I've voted ;) P.S. and I have multiple accounts on several lemmy instances. This one is just for watching, voting, collecting (in favs) of nsfw. Same as I did it before on reddit. I don't mix my content between my users, that is very convenient and saves privacy.

Fck it, I'm begining to look for a new nsfw server. Normal people need both down votes and upvotes equally. That is called freedom of opinion and a free exchange of freedom of opinions. The comunity is a comunity then it is not a walled garden of enforced hapy smiles only. If someone doesn't like getting down votes, the problem is in them, they have a chance to correct, adjust their content, but all is lost if they are just blocked. You'll lose comunity faster this way. And so, your decision to remove functionality is plain wrong. Oh, and vote me down, if you do not agree ;) you fcks.
