Makes me think of Fritz Haber. His story is too complicated to sum up in a quick blurb. But essentially he was a German-Jewish chemist and nationalist that developed poisonous gases eventually used in gas chambers during the Holocaust. Even though he was basically a national hero he had to flee for his life once the Nazis came to power. There was an episode of Behind the Bastards about him for anyone interested.
I had completely forgotten about that one! So many endless bastards that it's honestly hard to keep up.
Far too many bastards. And we keep making new ones.
