@Dave is the power supply's internal fan spinning if you power it on without it being connected to a motherboard? Shorting Green (PS_On) and Black (Common)ยน? That will help isolate the issue to the power-supply or motherboard?

Thanks for this. There was no green wire but I worked it out based on your link and got the fan spinning, so it seems the PSU is fine.
@Dave the PSU works but still might not be putting out all the right voltages. Unfortunately all further troubleshooting on the PSU and motherboard might need a digital multi meter. Can you get your hands on one?
I might go buy one today and give it a go. It would suck to buy a new mobo and find out it was the PSU after all ๐
@Dave yeah mate, my money is always on the PSU and a multi-meter is always handy to have around. Keep me posted, I'm invested now ๐
I did it, got a multimeter, followed a youtube video and tested it out. All the voltages are right, coming through fine, so it seems the PSU is fine.
At this point though I'm starting to think I might just use the opportunity for an upgrade. New mobo and CPU, and probably get a buttload of RAM (currently have 16GB DDR4). Will probably do a new post asking for hardware recommendations.
@Dave Ah bummer, at least you know now.
I wouldn't shy away from buying a couple generations older, especially for a home server, loads of good deals to be had on those. Good luck and enjoy your upgrade!
The current stuff is only from 2019. Replacing it like for like is no fun, I want fancier stuff ๐
