It’s strange that your answer is “it’s not easy” instead of “I would never shoot anyone/a friend”
I'm autistic, raised in an abusive household, and was tired.
There are several reasons to not shoot my friend. "They're far away" is factual, not emotional, and thus was the least likely to invite argument in the household I grew up in.
I didn't see a reason to explain multiple reasons why it wasn't happening. I also didn't have the bandwidth to figure out if they were serious or not (why would someone suggest shooting my friend?) and just wanted the suggestion dealt with politely in a way that wouldn't cause them to suggest it more forcefully.
Edit: also, they asked could I shoot my friend, not would I shoot my friend. Fuck me for answering the question asked of me.
