Summary

Ukraine launched a surprise offensive in Russia’s Kursk region, reportedly advancing towards the village of Bolshoe Soldatskoe with armored columns.

Ukrainian officials claim success, with unconfirmed reports of capturing Berdin and disabling Russian drones.

The operation, aided by freezing weather, comes amid escalating Russian advances in eastern Ukraine.

Speculation suggests Ukraine may leverage gains near Kursk in future peace negotiations, though Russia remains steadfast in its territorial demands.

Reports also indicate North Korean troops fighting alongside Russian forces suffered significant losses in recent battles near Sudzha.

Get as much territory as possible so you have to make as little concessions to facist russia as possible in negotiations. Sounds good.

Also brings to war to Russia, easy for people to ignore it if the fighting is away in Ukraine. Harder to ignore when soldiers are banging at the front door
