Why use Canva? What are you doing on this that can't be done for free in other applications elsewhere?
Dunno about op, but at my work it's used because of its ease to share and have several people work on the same file
It's fine if your work pays for it. That's why I have Spotify and Notion, for instance.. Why would I pass on free stuff?
Why does your work pay for Spotify? Just a perk?
Yes, just a perk
Not a helpful take TBH.
Canva is crazy easy and convenient. That's what they built their business on being.
People can complain about the products they like getting worse, that's how change happens, that's how people get motivated to make alternatives....etc
Not a helpful take to ask a question? Wtf are you talking about?
This sounds like an AI generated response. How is this more easy or convenient than the hundreds of alternatives that already exist?
It's especially tailored for recreating common designs like leaflets, artsy resumes, quick video presentations, etc. It doesn't require much technical knowledge and kind of walks you through it. It integrates everything well from easy templates, a vast library of shapes, a friendly/focused interface, and has many functions for common tasks. This is not an ad--it's literally what they do. lol If you know of any OSS that does all this, I'd love to hear it.
Yes, you could do that all with the classic Photoshop/Photopea/Gimp but it won't be fast, you'll need to learn it first, it won't be convenient, it might not be free (unless?... 🏴☠️🦜) and you're likely starting from scratch.
Don't be rude, please.
Wasn't trying to be rude, that comment was worded in a way that seemed like an LLM.
Anyway, thanks for explaining Canva. I assumed it was just an image editor. That does seem to fill a niche. Still lame that a circle is an upsell but I can see the appeal of the app.
Yeah, most LLMs I've used tend to use phrases like TBH and ...etc.
What is the point of saying that a response sounds like an AI generated response?
It's just a generic insult.
Your mother smells funny, and you're wrong.
We've reached the point where LLMs contribute just as valuable a response as the lowest common denominator human internet commenter. This makes some people spooked so they neurotically second guess every comment that sounds slightly off. Its hard to tell organic farm fresh human trash vs GMO LLM trash unless youve spoken with enough language models to know the subtle quirks. Also this is lemmy so yeah LLM bad
