Last weeks thread here

Welcome to this week’s casual kōrero thread!

This post will be pinned in this community so you can always find it, and will stay for about a week until replaced by the next one.

It’s for talking about anything that might not justify a full post. For example:

  • Something interesting that happened to you
  • Something humourous that happened to you
  • Something frustrating that happened to you
  • A quick question
  • A request for recommendations
  • Pictures of your pet
  • A picture of a cloud that kind of looks like an elephant
  • Anything else, there are no rules (except the rule)

So how’s it going?

Interesting regarding the headaches. Been doing some reading online and it seems that some optometrists sometimes recommend a +0.5 add (very minor correction for near sight) for a lot of people that do a lot of computer work etc, to help their eyes with some of the heavy lifting. This is the exact prescription that I got so hopefully it helps.

Yeah since my test, I've since learned, through reading online, that a lot of people recommend those online retailers. Here's hoping I won't need to buy too many glasses in the future, but if I need to do so, it's good to know these things. Plus we're going to Japan this year, and it seems they have a lot of affordable glasses and services where you get your prescription glasses made within a few hours! None of this waiting for a week plus business lol.

In my experience, the online ones are cheaper but not as significant as some people make out. Especially if you want e.g. polarised sunglasses.

Having your glasses made within a few hours sounds awesome!
