Still says Gulf of Mexico to me. Is the change just for American users then?
In the UK, it says both. One above the other.

I’m in the UK. Just says Gulf of Mexico for me, even when I select it.
I’m an American and it still says the proper name for me too.
For me it shows Golf of Mexico until I zoom in.
Lmao its apple map alright
Now it just shows Golf of America for me. Seems to have been caused by the live rollout.
