This is such a big setback that if Democrats win the White House, Senate and Congress in 2028 they’re going to spend 4 years just to rehire and build back a lot of the Executive branches as training etc takes a lot of time and money instead of moving the country forward.
There isn't a 4-8 back and forth cycle anymore. This paradigm no longer exists because the GOP has abdicated. It took the two parties to agree on this unwritten understanding.
The Dems are continuing to muddle around under the guise that a bygone era of decorum still exists... That maybe the old Republican party will come back. After each Dem term, MAGA will continue to do whatever the fuck they're doing with reckless abandon. They know the Dems are cucked. One or both disappears as a party. We're past that point for the GOP as it's clear MAGA isn't an aberration of 2016. So it must be the Dems re-invent themselves as something that can actually challenge MAGA.
This isn't just a setback for Democrats. This needs to be a realization that the Dems are no longer a viable party. Sure on paper and in a bottle they are indeed a political party. Not one that is going to rise to the challenges.
People have been wondering if the party will be listless if Trump dies. Maybe that's when MAGA finally reverts to the old Republicans. It's clear now it won't. They'll elect a puppet president. The real president will be Musk or who ever else manages to worm their way in.
This election was stolen through voter suppression at least, if not outright vote manipulation.
So will the next and future elections. Maybe we should stop focusing so much on next time and actually figuring out how to stop what is happening now?
Considering that everyone at CISA responsible for securiting state elections has been put on leave, I'm pretty sure there will never be another fair election in any shape in the USA.
Sure, what do you suggest?
Someone who is better at me at organizing could stage mass protests I guess. Not show up and wave signs, but actively get in the way of illegal steps like impeding doge and ICE thugs to keep them from carrying out their activities. Someone who is better at PR could get some airtime to incite active rebellion against thw coup.
The problem is getting the masses to understand that they can make change happen if they work together. But decades of propaganda turning everyone against each other will be hard to do while their lives haven't imploded yet.
If those things aren't possible then we are left with violent rebellion and that isn't likely to enact change, just get the ignorant on the side of the fascists. The main problem is enough of the population is in favor of or fine with fascists as long as it doesn't harm them too much personally.
If another Democrat ever wins the Whitehouse they should nationalize everything musk owns.
