Last weeks thread here

Welcome to this week’s casual kōrero thread!

This post will be pinned in this community so you can always find it, and will stay for about a week until replaced by the next one.

It’s for talking about anything that might not justify a full post. For example:

  • Something interesting that happened to you
  • Something humourous that happened to you
  • Something frustrating that happened to you
  • A quick question
  • A request for recommendations
  • Pictures of your pet
  • A picture of a cloud that kind of looks like an elephant
  • Anything else, there are no rules (except the rule)

So how’s it going?

I have one of those basic ones you put a special bowl in the freezer ahead of time then take it out and put it into the spinning thing to make the ice cream. Got it as a wedding present so it's lasted quite a long time! Though various parts are held together with duct tape, it still works well.

I don't think I've every tried to make sorbet. I might have early on, it was a long time ago. I ended up with a nice base ice cream recipe I liked then have added various things over the years. I made hokey pokey a few times, that was pretty good. Lots of orange chocolate chip which is always a favourite. I've thrown strawberries or raspberries in to a vanilla base which is pretty good. I should try some others but don't really use it too much these days.
