You can always find "a case" that they'll use to say "SEE I WARNED YOU". The point is - it is not an issue, it's a scare tactic because "the others" are scary to them. Same reason with racists and immigrants from other countries - I have heard that 4000 doctors saving lives deserve to be kicked out because there was one person from a foreign country that killed someone. Bigots don't operate on logic, facts or statistics. They find / manufacture facts that support their "view" and ignore everything else
That's a good point. Even by asking the question I'm entering the debate on the bigots' terms. Even if there are a few examples, the whole issue of who goes in which toilet and who polices it is just the thing the bigots have happened to land on. If it wasn't this, they'd find some other way to persecute the people they hate. I really don't understand how JK Rowling can carry on like this and not feel like she's wasting her life.
