I'd love to see a communities for: (some of these may be around, but I haven't searched for them yet)
Turn-based RPGs (BG3 for example) Real time with pause would also fit into turn-based.
Action/adventure (TOTK would be here).
JRPG
AmITheAsshole
Communities for the different US states and the biggest city in the state.
ebikes
electric cars
Fitness (a general one and women and men's communities just because the focus is often quite different between the two)
Weightlifting
Nextfuckinglevel
Parrots or pet birds
Birdwatching
Restless leg syndrome (any any other chronic condition like lupus, MS etc)
Uplifting news
Woodworking
Carving (more niche, only carving not furniture making)
Kayaking
Sewing
Photography software and techniques
A View from my Window (or deck, or yard. focus on where you live, not glamor vacation pix)
City Planning (a place to discuss how to get involved in city politics to do things like create biking paths, better sidewalks, etc.)
KindleScribe (or any e-ink device you write/draw on like Remarkable, Boox, Supernote)
Longevity (research focused on health extension and longer life spans)
These may be too specific, but I thought I'd toss them all out there. Sorry for the craptacular lack of formatting. I forgot to hit the list style button.
I really look forward to the return of AmITheAsshole
I know you mentioned that you haven't searched yet, so this may not be the only one out there, but fwiw I noticed the other day that someone set up a JRPG community on the kbin.social instance:
https://kbin.social/m/JRPGs
Still in its silent "gathering subscribers" phase since it's such a new instance.
It that part of the Lemmy Instances? When I run a search, they don't show up. Am I not able to see this from Beehaw? Thanks for the link!
Looks like there's a support thread about this:
https://beehaw.org/post/444366
I'm not sure Kamirose (in that thread) is right, but if so then maybe this URL will work after a while (now that we've searched):
https://beehaw.org/c/JRPGs@kbin.social
I have another hunch, but it's a little more convoluted. For a proper answer, I think we'd need to ask someone who knows Lemmy itself well.
https://beehaw.org/c/tech@kbin.social pulls a few recent threads. The issue could possibly be that the JRPGs community equivalent on KBin has zero threads and Microblogs do not appear to sync, so there is nothing for Lemmy's search to find.
I tried posting a new (…ish – I'm not exactly up to date on JRPG news!) link, so we'll see if that helps. 🤞
Would be good to have a clearer idea how to cross-polinate new communities across the fediverse, though. Especially for niche groups it's going to be hard to find each other otherwise.
Huge +1 for birdwatching!
