Camacho would be such an improvement on reality nowadays...
Ya, at least he recognized there was someone out there smarter than him and brought him in as an advisor.
I hate how increasingly accurate this movie has become.
As is usually pointed out, the similarities are not strong.
President Camacho actually wanted to help his people, hired the smartest person he could find, and listened to his advice.
And stepped down as President in the end to let someone else lead. For a better comparison of leadership now, look at Don't Look Up. Far more realistic in so many ways.
I'll also throw in Iron Sky.
The problem with that is the world has to get bad enough for President Camacho to help the world. We're in the Pre-Camacho era
