She was part of the ruling family in a crusader state and almost certainly killed her son after he developed leprosy.

Guy was unpopular because he was cruel and stupid. Guy was banished to Outremer in the first place because he participated in a kidnapping plot against Eleanor of Aquitaine.

If you want to give Syballa a pass for being a woman in what's definitely a man's world that's one thing but her heart was as stupid as her brain and it got her killed.

On the other hand, she was part of the series of own goals that led to Saladin destroying the crusader states so maybe it's good that it was.
