Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

I'm back with another article.

This one's from 2016 and still relevant today. I appreciated the nuanced, balanced and informed take, it's especially well done as an article and particularly well done for a blog.

Interesting read! I am a little amused that they used a handful of examples to make their point and then waived away what little "scientific" data we have on the topic, despite opening by stating people tend to agree with things that support their preconceived notions.

I personally think it is interesting to know, just for the sake of knowing, and though I understand some people deem it a value judgement, I don't think it has to be. It's ok if men and women, on average, think differently, it's ok if that's learned or innate. It's also ok if they don't. I just think knowing would shed light on humanity regardless.

I thought this was a good quote though:

he was, as Nichols drily observes, ‘eight and a half times more successful than me at writing the same book’.

I was surprised by the conclusion, too.

I'm here for the theme too, liked how she kept restating that it may or may not be true, but no one is better or worse if it is, (but she thinks it isn't.)

My favorite articles are the ones I kinda disagree with anyway, it's good to be challenged.
