I would hope it wasn't called that until that injury.
Like, throw some foreshadowing into the movie. Have a Greek medical student learning anatomy and have the prof say "And this, above the heel, is the 'short tendon', yes, it's terribly named because it goes all the way up to the calf, but we didn't understand anatomy well when we first named it. We should probably come up with a new name for it."
