Well phuck, I finally got the backstory of the missing half of the dashboard from my mom yesterday.
She said he had lost his phone, and for whatever reason he thought the dashboard somehow ate it. By the time she realized what he was doing to the truck, she just went out and called his phone. It was sitting in the bed of the truck the whole time.. 🤦‍♂️
Her old man (not my actual father), wasn't exactly the brightest egg in the toolbox...
That is epic.
I have had dashboards that far apart, myself. But I...uh...put them back together, rather than duct taping over them.
