I know it's a meme, but the constant demonizing of the bottom left as though it's as bad as the bottom right frustrates me.

Have any people been misdiagnosed and died before receiving care? Absolutely. And some people die in their homes because they had a brain thing no one knew about, regardless of system. But the bottom left, in most systems that have it, is based on triage, which means the vast majority of people likely to die are seen promptly and don't die, and most people who wait for a long time are in discomfort but don't die. And that can suck, to be sure! I don't want to be in discomfort, and I think we should increase spending to reduce the wait time for discomfort as well.

And like I said, some people are on an edge where something is misdiagnosed as discomfort that is actually much more serious, or they develop something more serious while waiting for the first thing to be dealt with, but framing "I had to wait in line before I received care" as being equal to "I was structurally prohibited from ever receiving care" is straight bullshit that keeps people trapped in worse system.

It's essentially the same argument as "we shouldn't tax the millionaires because some day I plan on winning a lottery and becoming one", but then you die poor because obviously.

The biggest problem with socialist healthcare is how it's been eroded by mercenary care alongside. Mercenary clinics steal providers from the good system, reduce the supply-side management effectiveness, and make it into a bad system; just so rich fucks can skip the line they help perpetuate.

Eliminate that and it's not yet perfect but it's a whole lot better.

I mean, I'd argue that even in the framing of the meme libleft is better than libright. Libleft says "If your issue is time-sensitive, you may be fucking screwed"; libright says "If you aren't rich, you're fucking screwed. Period."

In the same way that authright is very clearly the worst of the lot.

I feel like a lot of PCMemes show a general slant to libleft. It's just superior, even when it's shit.

Some of that is selection bias - I definitely skip over a LOT of horrific PCMs with... concerning ideas of what libleft entails.

I should have known someone sane was responsible for that

I could read that with my own biases, but the words say "you die in a 12 month queue". It maybe implies to you or I that they were in a queue based on need but there weren't enough doctors and due to this etc etc etc.

But what the compass is clearly stating is that you're dead in all quadrants, but in my very privileged experience there's a lot less dying in the bottom left than the other 3.
