I know it's a meme, but the constant demonizing of the bottom left as though it's as bad as the bottom right frustrates me.
Have any people been misdiagnosed and died before receiving care? Absolutely. And some people die in their homes because they had a brain thing no one knew about, regardless of system. But the bottom left, in most systems that have it, is based on triage, which means the vast majority of people likely to die are seen promptly and don't die, and most people who wait for a long time are in discomfort but don't die. And that can suck, to be sure! I don't want to be in discomfort, and I think we should increase spending to reduce the wait time for discomfort as well.
And like I said, some people are on an edge where something is misdiagnosed as discomfort that is actually much more serious, or they develop something more serious while waiting for the first thing to be dealt with, but framing "I had to wait in line before I received care" as being equal to "I was structurally prohibited from ever receiving care" is straight bullshit that keeps people trapped in worse system.
It's essentially the same argument as "we shouldn't tax the millionaires because some day I plan on winning a lottery and becoming one", but then you die poor because obviously.
