Maybe it was actually his helmet making the sound but the dagger daggerflute was the electronic "key" to access music mode. He blows into his microphone and instead of it relaying the sound of his breaths it encodes it into flute playing. Technology is wonderful.

Maybe suggest a business consultant for her to assess how she can restructure the business to be less dependent on her labour

Think he wanted quizzes and articles. And reddit posts, for instance - testimony. It makes sense to me, because those 3 things are qualitative and anecdotal and thus provide more of a human interaction feel. What OP ultimately needed was to talk it over with people.

I think you're in a unique type of hell here. The thing about small-medium sized business owners is that they can either tired themselves to the bone or not... it's ultimately a choice, and she would be so much healthier (mental and physical) if she took the choice to release her workload. Any good business needs failsafes; she needs someone under her to manage the hectic stuff. Once you're past startup phase you can't allow your business to halt on account of one key worker taking a sick day or being overworked. Your girlfriend is that key staff member in her business, she's made herself take all the burden. No more!

Anyway, would I personally date a workaholic? My first response was "Absolutely. I'd enjoy making it my job to help them take the edge off from work and relax again." However, what you present is soooooooo so so more extreme than my idea of a workaholic. So now I just feel embarrassed. Hope your partner can have a less hectic work life soon (in a positive sense. Begone, monkeys paw!)

American Israel Public Affairs Committee

These people are the reason israel can get a trillion dollars all at once from congress when americans are going hungry and there's a meth zombie epidemic across multiple cities. Your politicians are insane and no amount of blackmail could make me behave the way they do.

is it just me or are people getting chained up by romantic partners even more than they did in the past

Many fantasy worlds start on the premise of "how was the world created, how many gods do people worship?"

By simply modulating that you can get a lot of fresh ideas.

Maybe in a fantasy world it would be more conducive to have the stories grounded in reality. Kids need to know how to deal with trolls and goblins.

"Once upon a future there will be a world where everyone has free healthcare from the government and machines exist which do the dangerous and repetitive work for us, so humans have more time to advance science and arts, as well as enjoy themselves. The end."

Still holding out on that one

Bad people come im all spots and stripes. I think that's all i need to say. It's dangerous to ever assume that people who outwardly look similar will have the same behaviour patterns.

I've just been seeing so much of this online. It's rarely racism or similar but... what's the benefit of making this comment? "Ah, funny, i've had bad experiences in my past with someone who looked similar to this!" It doesn't make sense to say such things to the ether, to an audience of 7.5 billion humans.

e.g It might teach you to ride the wave of destiny, and treat life more like a rollercoaster than a linear videogame that you're supposed to grind and minmax in.

In Britain we have a load of royal named things, e.g "The King's Head," "The Prince Henry," or animal themed pubs like "The Three Pikes," The Red Lion (most common oub name) or something gorey like "The Hanged Man," "The Village Chopping Block." On that note, we also have pubs named after landmarks, e.g "The Old Oak," "The Anvil."

Any more modern establishment like a bar can have posher or more postmodern names. Sometimes jokey names.

I was struck by a realisation thst i don't know how other countries name their pubs amd bars. Would be helpful to know, for understanding other cultures. I even don't know for places like the USA, which also speak English. Excited to hear your responses!

I found this super interesting, they've covered the prequel trilogy so far and there's some things in it i would not have been able to pick up on my own.

https://pipedapi.kavin.rocks/watch?v=p1yoCJS3_Q0 piped link, if i did it right.

They plan to cover various star wars serieses like Maul Shadow Lord after doing the OT movies. One presenter is a lecturer on politics, not sure the other guy's qualifications but he also has great insights.

It also raises questions for me about the prequel trilogy. One on my mind at the moment is - why did the seperatists and republic actually go to war? The truest answer of course is that Palpatine wanted it, and manipulated eventd to make it look like both sides were starting on one another, but i wonder why any star system would join up an alliance lead by corporations who say "oh yeah we're building a robot army and we want to f the republic's ship up. Nope we're not going to peacefully secede. That's for losers."

Why no NSFW? (lemmy.world)
submitted 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) by FinjaminPoach@lemmy.world to c/askbiologists@lemmy.world

Sex is part of biology - does the no NSFW policy mean no posts even marked NSFW asking a sexual reproduction question, or does it mean I could ask one ias long as it's only using clinical and scientific terms?

EDIT: since it's not really gross or gorey i will ask the question i had in mind, in spoilers. You'll probably agree it's sfw enough but in case you don't want to hpthink about reproduction...

Question: do any other animals, or organisms in general, fake their orgasms like humans are known to do?

"Criticizing Google CEO's UofA Commencement Speech Where He Got Booed"

Not many people have made videos on this event and i think Molly Rocket is right to do one on the topic.

Piped links:

there is SO MUCH booing in this. This speech really should be talked about more. Listen to how many people hate AI. Just one university out of hundreds in just one country.

Whether intentionally or not, what do movies depict or present wrong a lot of the time?

Even the most cosmetic farmland can reach almost maximum productivity, thanks to the aqueducts. There's much less reason to fuss over productivity specialists in this one.
