Hi everyone. I was wondering if i am the only person who has this: I get kind of annoyed when people comment on what i eat or how much i eat. Regardless if it is consodered healthy or not healthy, much or litte food. I espeacially don't like being asked things like "why do you eat this?" or comments like "this is bad for x/y", " you shoud eat more a/b because x/y"

I mean i'm pretty sure that it stems from the ED i used to have about 10 years ago. But i was wondering:

  • Are there people without any sings of ED or former ED that still don't like when people comment on that?
  • Why do some people feel entitled to comment or question what others eat in the first place?

Im very interested in options from others. Have a nice weekend anyways :)

I hate this. I train a lot and a few years ago was microwaving pasta at work and the woman in the kitchen who I HAD NEVER MET BEFORE said in horror "you're not going to ear all that??" I wasn't overweight, it was just shitty. I said i trained for a few hours that day and she didn't even downplay the comment by saying I looked good or anything. And yes years later I'm still pissed.

Women have a horrible time with their weight. We're too fat or too thin, and it's ingrained into us that we need to be a certain weight. I had an anorexic friend and whenever we went anywhere with food total strangers would come over and ask if she'd eaten. As if more food pressure was helpful and she was going to say "omg you're right! My ED is cured thank you!!!!"

It's just so fucking unhelpful and unpleasant

yeah it feels like the whole world is precisely watching what we eat and also feels the need to correct us.

Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.
