Ubuntu Touch also uses an Linux kernel, just a really old one that has been patched to death by the SoC manufacturer which made it completely impossible to maintain the fork. Android itself uses those kernels. What I really want to see is a manufacturer launching a phone with full mainline kernel support. I'm sure I'd buy one in an instant just to get an up-to-date Linux kernel in combination with all components working instead of the ugly insecure mess you usually get from day one and which soon no longer receives updates.
Yah, I guess I should have described it as 'mainline' linux kernel for PostmarketOS
