I dont know the context so I hope its not a kid in a wheelchair or something but.. Why do you think its mentally unhealthy for people to celebrate kys posts? Depending on the person I'd say its more mentally unhealthy not to celebrate.
Jk Rowling was the person they told to "suck on a shotgun", so it's not just cruelty for cruelty sake.
Celebrating "kys post" would be considered anti social behavior by me. I don't go around saying we should kill people. Even when ik screaming at traffic (at my protest ) I say "everyone here wants to remove trump from office" like I don't even think about assassinating trump or advocating for his death(but I might suggest trump will die of natural causes).
If I were to go around talking about people I want dead, I would definitely be scaring people and eventually get hostile retaliations.
I would be better to workshop how to communicate trans advocacy. Like how do we explain that it's okay to feel like you have different gender than what your born into. Trans people are normal people. (2 people actually got mad at me using the term normal)
Different social environments I guess. I do openly celebrate the death of people I dont like. After Charlie kirk the first thing I said at work was "did anyone hear the good news". To me these people are so beyond the pale that they do not deserve basic respects. These people are ghouls they have no empathy or compassion. They can only be moved by being bullied or forced to change. No one actually cares if they believe it we just need them to stop attacking.
For the point about trans advocacy. The way I see it you have two prongs of trans advocacy both moving the needle.
You have the people who approach it in a kind open way and they do good work in moving normal people. They also act as a filter exposing the people who cannot be reached via that method.
Then the other prong fights dirty and attacks these people and demeans them because they will be attacking trans people (in an information warfare sense). You can't just let them sit around and attack it has to be seen for people to be pushing back and countering these narratives. An example of this is saying "not a drag queen" every time a right winger gets exposed for being a pedofile. Or mocking Charlie kirks death.
I definitely made jokes online celebrating that Kirk was dead just to piss people off, so some hypocrisy. Yeah like I can understand wanting Rowling dead in general. So it's more of a "we shouldn't" and not "we can't". It's one thing for people to celebrate a "kys post" and accept that I say it's mentally unhealthy l, but you can tell the people were calling me a transphobe and liberal apologist (whatever insults they can think of) because they're ashamed that I'm calling their behavior mentally ill. I use anti narcissist measures like asking what they mean and they fall for it like narcissist 😒.
I don't want the trans community to come off as derranged...it's really Lemmy users not trans people on lemmy.
I think I might see 2 different kinds of men. Emotionally Weak men and emotionally strong men. There's several difference but a weak man will attack first then seek understand and strong man will seek to understand. I could word it better like strong man is prepared to suffer and do what they don't like
