Off My Chest
RULES:
I am looking for mods!
1. The "good" part of our community means we are pro-empathy and anti-harassment. However, we don't intend to make this a "safe space" where everyone has to be a saint. Sh*t happens, and life is messy. That's why we get things off our chests.
2. Bigotry is not allowed. That includes racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and religiophobia. (If you want to vent about religion, that's fine; but religion is not inherently evil.)
3. Frustrated, venting, or angry posts are still welcome.
4. Posts and comments that bait, threaten, or incite harassment are not allowed.
5. If anyone offers mental, medical, or professional advice here, please remember to take it with a grain of salt. Seek out real professionals if needed.
6. Please put NSFW behind NSFW tags.

women and men are sexualized in all sorts of media, unrealistically. and folks love it and folks also hate it, often the same folks who hate their gender being sexualized but love it when it's done to the gender they are attracted to.
why do you care so much about this to the point it is causing you self-negativity? do you like enjoy it and think you shouldn't?
As someone raised evangelical, this was me before realizing my honest attempt to live and breathe the Bible were incredibly self-destructive. When your life is ruled by guilt and shame, you end up despising the things that make you human.
Because I believe its not ethical.
Its enough how dark the porn industry is, and this sexualization only makes me remember the terrible crimes committed there.
Not to mention how it also affects our expectations for the other gender. (even if subtly)
Some people think eating meat is unethical. Those people often stop eating meat. You could follow your beliefs and seek games with less sexualization.
Of course, but this practice is common, making it hard to just seek out porn-free games
Look for more indie developers. There are thousands of games out there without porn.
ok so any sexualization of anyone ever in media isn't ethical?
