RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including all information that can initiate conversations when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world
  5. Keep it clean and SFW
  6. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.
  7. No support questions. See !techsupport@lemmy.world

My best friend's at the time wife (now ex) did this all the time. I was never bothered by it. Her Mom is a POS, she had no sisters, she didn't really have family, and no women to look up to. She was also very insecure. She tried to model her life after mine.

I wouldn't call myself friends with her but, I put up with her for the sake of their children. She still often asks my opinion before major life decisions and any time she's doing anything that I have expertise in. Overall she's still an anxious, insecure, and not very good person.

So yes, yes I have. Thankfully we no longer live near each other so contact is minimal.
