Yes, often culture plays a huge role, but some psychedelic experiences are universal and likely reflect the way our brains construct reality.

Yea but you're not going to see code running if you haven't ever seen code. This is clearly something coming from culture.

It's like people seeing hags in the US under sleep paralysis and people elsewhere seeing other mythological creatures.

True, my comment was more an also and an as well than a correction.

I'm getting into Jung a bit right now, and his thinking that the "collective unconscious" is some real extra-dimensional Encyclopedia Brittanica is annoying, though I think that trait is more pronounced among his fans.
