Coworkers sister is almost at this point. The baby is so undersized for its age that the doctors have told her there is virtually no chance of survival, but there is a heartbeat. So there is nothing they can do. She has to carry it until it inevitably dies, even though she has been bleeding so much that it has caused her to go on FMLA only 9 weeks into pregnancy.
