You don't understand what productivity refers to. It refers to development of technology to industry, not having an economy tied to bullshit government jobs that produce nothing but paper. No one in Ottawa is "productive", it's all bloated overhead.

Like it or not, Canada is a resources based economy. We consistently fail at development of new technologies, i.e. Nortel, RIM/Blackberry. RIM should be as big as Apple but they blew it.

How about construction workers, truck drivers carrying goods to the border for export, business people hoping to board planes to make international deals?

They don't produce anything? A plumber that does three house calls in a day and has to cancel his fourth call of the day (yours) as they don't have time to complete it because of traffic slowing their travel time is no problem for you? 3 jobs in a day instead of 4 isn't less productive?
