They used to do this shit in the medieval era. They called it first sleep and second sleep and were "biphasic". They would chat, pray, smoke, read, sometimes visit neighbors.

Waking up in the middle of the night to have sex, I don't think I've done that since I was around 20. Minds mature, bodies get tired. There isn't such a fascination and obsession with "but I want to get laid" once you've had sex a a hundred times. Getting a good rest and not disturbing your partners rest has become more prominent for me.
