That is not a California thing so much as an Orange County thing. California is not homogeneous and has some horrific neonazi enclaves. We call those shitholes Calibama. If you live in one, get out.
Is it really? I have never heard of this being used as a derogatory term in 13 years of living in the County of Los Angeles.
