my opinion is that as time marches on, fewer and fewer of these original consoles will be around, assuming that they don't get manufactured anymore. so eventually, we'll all be forced to use emulators anyways.
on top of that, i guess emulators are cheaper. you already have the computing device, you only need a new controller to attach to it.
