Conservatives don't care about facts. They care about feelings. Specifically, the high of in-group solidarity and the thrill of hurting the out-group. They're stupid. You can't engage with them on facts because they aren't there. You need to change their in-group, somehow get their in-group to change beliefs, or traumatize them. Those are the only things that change minds.
The whole point of their identity is that they can hate people, and that their hatred is righteous
