Omarchy Mocks Typical Linux Users With Dedicated Webpage

It shows a picture of a AI generated image of a king and queen referencing them as Omarchy users. Then it shows a floating icon of a jester representing Linux users that pops up some of the following quotes:
- The peasants whiper the whole distro castle vibe-coded
- It's a bunch of dotfiles
- Ricing is not engineering, my liege
- Congratulations, you have discovered i3
- Two JPEG's, a gradient, and delusions of monarchy
- Zero days since the last zero day, sire
- Coronation was on Tueday, the build was red
- Wait until they hear about NixOS
- It's not a distro, . It's a theme folder with a domain name
- It's the worst distro in the market, they cry. Its not even a distro
I believe this whole thing was done in response of some "monarchy" and "oligarchy" comments on Omarchy around the fediverse. It is also sometimes weird to get the "joke" because the speaker changes.
It seems to me they know what they're doing: the controversial posts have been nothing but marketing to them.
Up until today I have never heard of it before. But now I'm seeing plenty of discussions around them, most regarding controversies.
That being said, regardless of their political instances (that does seem to be terrible, although I have no interest in diving deeper), there's nothing there that smells good to me when it comes to what I would expect from a FOSS/Linux project.
That being said, that will possibly be the last time I interact with a post about this. Not interested in giving them any extra attention.
The biggest way the far right recruits, is gaslighting useful idiots into "raising awareness".
It's actually how it made a comeback with 90s daytime TV. They were given a literal safe space to spout their shit 99% of people found reprehensible. But there was always a couple kids who were home sick or expelled. People who would fall for it, but we're never exposed to it. Or poor out of work people, kind of the target demo.
Before that, they had to recruit in person where they'd get punched in the face for it.
The modern equivalent, is what OP is doing. And they most likely don't even understand it and genuinely think they're helping.
I'm aware that Omarchy is trying to - in their own words - "counter the balance in politics. However I'm just sharing this because there is fair technical criticism against Omarchy and they seem to dismiss it as bad opinions, and the webpage goes as far to ridicule the people their own project depends on. In my opinion this is unacceptable behaviour (as the implied tone of my post) regardless of politics and should be shared as an example of what not to do. Even if my post was political - which it isn't - the post is simply exposing something bad they did. Why sharing rejection over an idea would fuel the idea in the first place? And if if did it would very much interest you on showing me how to handle the situation.
Well, we're living in an attention economy. And if a shitty project can grab your attention in amy wayz it's a win for them.
I really don't understand this logic. If I'm pointing at something shitty they have done and someone knowingly joins them then nothing is lost. We just identified another shitty person.
If the argument is that with their popularity they misrepresent the Linux community, then why not make them infamous with posts like mine?
I would really like for you to convince me that dismissing the topic is the better course of action.
You present two options of cause and effect as mutually exclusive, but I think both options belong together as one.
You're not making them ONLY infamous with your post, but also equally famous with the crowd that might have otherwise missed them completely. A large community gives rise to influence.
You can for example look at how the german extreme right party is gaining more and more followers and support even though they are only ever in the news for outrageously dumb or criminal stuff they did.
