From left to right:
Far left anticapitalist party NPA will not run.
LFI is about as left as a social democratic party can be. They support a reined-in capitalism, but still capitalism. They want to change the constitution moving to the 6th republic in order to increase democracy. Their leader is easily disliked for his often loud and purposefully provocative stances.
Ecologists are a minor player with a similar program to LFI. Their leader is pregnant, expected to deliver her baby soon.
There is no "left".
Center left socialist party has been moving right for a long time, and can only be called left in the current times, their policies are equivalent to France's 1970's center-right. They are still infighting as to who will represent them.
Center right Renaissance is really authoritarian neoliberal, has been in power for 10 years and crashed the country's finances by reducing taxes, currently trying to kill all social policies. They helped the police become ever more violent and fearsome. I am not sure they have chosen their champion yet, but a former guy from the movement is already candidate.
Right republicans is trying to differentiate itself from far-right national front, but the main difference is in its voters which are wealthier and more "bourgeois". Their leader is a former member of a royalist party.
National front is a full-fledged fascist party, founded by three main persons: a waffen-ss, a torturer during the Algerian independence war and a lawyer specialized in helping Nazis after ww2. They are lead by the daughter of the initial leader, the torturer.
mainstream medias are mostly geared right / far right. Some Newspapers resist, le monde which you posted is rather at the center, but kind of playing the red scare facing LFI. A notable point is that they still call LFI radical left where most outlets call the far-left.
