i wouldn't say it's so simple though. at least in my corner of the world, there has been a decades long campaign to fuck education and a lot of propaganda to get people to be proud of ignorance.

then massive campaigns on tv and the internet to push bullshit and disinformation, while suppressing anything of actual importance. and then there's people who want to be distracted from their shitty lives by every means necessary...

yes, it sounds simple because it's simple at a high level view; but i can understand how the strategies to distract people are varied and come from multiple sources.

i'm marveling that people are unable to see the impact that these distractions have and boggle to understand why they can't see that any of it is intentional.
