I remember my old psychiatrist had something like this and it worked great in an even more pin-droppy ambient environment.

I'd personally recommend an air purifier as it'll also clean the air that comes in as you enter.

Saying this as a person from BC with its yearly fires :(

This is the correct answer. If you are going to run an appliance 12 + hours a day.....have it clean the air while making a nice low static noise.
