What was a lesson that was super rough and hard-learned for you but that you are genuinely grateful for in retrospect? (lemmy.world)

It can still have positive and negative lingering effects but focus on the big picture for a moment

For me:

  • the opposite of having established redundant measures for safety kills. My finances have been improving since I plan for the worst and overestimate my liabillities while underestimating potential inflows

I was working in a summer camp, the one you stay for the week. There was this running gag that I could eat an infinite amount of nuggets, I could out eat the kids etc. 3-4 weeks in my boss-cook is real angry at me, turns out she cannot eat nuggets since the start of the camp because of the running stupid gag. Realise that my actions affect others and felt bad for a good time after it. The next week I didn’t bring the gag up
