Don't fucking use Android Auto. Check out https://privacy4cars.com/ while you're at it as to why it's a bad ideaThat's literally just a sales website. I don't see any indicator of why it's a bad idea, just a pitch of an enterprise and an individual solution for a problem it doesn't explain.

Y'all can down vote me all you want but seems a little hypocritical. We're talking about using Android auto in your car, on a privacy group. It's not a privacy conscious practice is my point.
Automotive companies love all that data, and collect it, monetize it to data brokers, insurance "risk data brokers" etc. KIA/Hyundai and Nissan are there worst for it!

Android Auto is only a display for your phone. How is it a privacy risk?
Would you give a stranger your phone so it can read you directions or tell you that you have a text from your mom? What if the stranger read it aloud for you? What if that stranger was hundreds of thousands of people called a company and they were selling that data to their other friends who charge you money for car insurance?
Yes, modern cars are a privacy nightmare. Yes, modern smartphones are a privacy nightmare. But what does Android Auto have to do with any of this? All it does is run a second screen for your phone.
