Is java a money maker these days?

Kinda dead language outside of corporate maintenance. There's really no reason to use Java when Kotlin and all other flavors exist.

No not really. It combines the worst of all worlds. Working with it is a slog, and it's mostly used in shitty corporate jobs.

All of our chip vendor's code is in C, and it's fully certified, so the entire hardware integrity stack is C. Less flaky and far leaner than the C++ applications in the HLOS.
