Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

I will die on the hill the Velvet Underground was profoundly more influential on rock music than the Beatles. I'll give the Beatles they were a cultural phenomenon but only like 10 of their songs are still listanable in 2026. Where I can listen to all 4 VU albums back to back and like most of what I hear.
They insist upon themselves
I think most artists do, but a lot of people also insist upon them. They also suffer from the problem of being so influential that they were copied to death, which makes them sound derivative even though they were the inventors.
