Also, I'd rather have healthcare for all and robust social safety nets, which are far more valuable than a paltry one time 5k payment that he'll weasel out of.
Just doing some quick napkin math, the $5k payouts would cost around $1.25 trillion, pretty much guarantee at least 4 more years of no Medicare for All, and lead to absolutely no systemic change. M4A is estimated to cost anywhere from $2.5-$3 trillion per year. So yeah, he's almost certainly lying but also even if not it's a huge bargain for the oligarch class.
Who wants to bet he pulled that number out of his ass, without checking with anyone, or looking into if they even can?
Why would he check if they can do it, he has no intention of actually doing it, he probably picked it because it sounds good
